Dr. Ioanna Katsiadaki
Ioanna is a principal Fish Physiologist/Endocrinologist and the Science Leader for The Cefas Weymouth Laboratory. She graduated from the Veterinary School (Aristotelian University, Thessaloniki, Greece) in 1992 and a year later she moved to the UK to continue her studies on receipt of a national scholarship. Ioanna completed an MSc (Fish Technology) and a PhD (Biochemistry of fish reproductive physiology) before joining Cefas in 1998 to develop an androgen biomarker in fish.
Ioanna has over 25 years of experience in conducting research in the area of chemical hazard characterisation and test method development. She is also providing information and advice related to the effects of contaminants on aquatic organisms to government departments (Defra and the EA) as well as international organisations like OECD, ECHA and SETAC.
